Information of the clinic

The Health Service (Yoshida: Main Clinic), Uji Branch, and Katsura Branch provide medical and health services for university students and staff. Medical service of the department of internal medicine and psychiatry are available.

The Health Service (Yoshida: Main Office)

The Health Service is staffed by doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical office staff. We provide medical services in internal medicine and psychiatry. Also, we provide health checkups for new employees and out-of-period, as well as health guidance after these. Our schedule and hours are subject to change due to health checkups.

 

Department of Internal Medicine

Department of Internal medicine provides the following services:

  • Doctor Consultation (primary care)
    We provide initial treatment in case of illness and first aid for injuries.
  • Issuance of Health Certificates
    We can provide various types of health certificates required for employment, studying abroad, and license applications.
  • Vaccinations (Yoshida only)
    We offer vaccinations for hepatitis A, tetanus, rabies, and meningococcal.
  • Health Consultation
    We accept consultations on general health issues.
  • Explanation of Health Checkup Results and Follow-Up
    Follow-up examinations are conducted based on the results of the annual health checkup for students and employees. In addition, work-specific medical checkups and RI medical checkups (in some cases) are also conducted.
  • A Quit-Smoking Program
    We can provide a quit-smoking program for students and employees using smoking cessation medication.

 

Department of Psychiatry

Department of Psychiatry provides the following services:

  • Psychiatric Care
    We can provide diagnosis and treatment, including medication, for mental disorders.
    The main target disorders include anxiety disorders, depression, insomnia, adjustment disorders, and schizophrenia.
    These illnesses may cause symptoms such as rapid, pounding heart rate, shortness of breath , depressed mood, insomnia, irritability, anger, and a feeling of restlessness.
  • Issuance of Health Certificates
    We can provide various health certificates necessary for various procedures associated with mental illness.
  • Health Consultation
    We can provide consultations regarding mental health issues.

Uji Branch

There is a nurse on-site (Monday and Friday: PM only). It provides various services such as medical treatment and first aid for those who are not feeling well, health guidance after health checkups, issuance of health certificates, and support for a quit-smoking program. Doctor consultations are held on Tuesday and Thursday.

*Please be sure to bring your ID card and insurance card when you would like a doctor consultation.

 

Katsura Branch

There is a nurse on-site. It provides various services such as medical treatment, and first aid for those who are not feeling well, health guidance after health checkups, issuance of health certificates, and support for a quit-smoking program. Doctor consultations are held on Tuesday and Thursday.

Medical Consultation Fee

Full-time employees: Self-pay for insurance (30%)

Students / Part-time staff: Free consultation at internal medicine. Psychiatric consultation needs fee (several hundred yen). Drugs and tests are actual costs (100%).

 

Drug Prescribing

At Yoshida, you can receive prescriptions after your consultation. The Uji branch and Katsura branch may not be able to prescribe some types of medication on the same day. Please note that out-of-hospital prescriptions are not available.

 

Medical Care Coordination

We provide support in cooperation with Kyoto University Hospital (https://www.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/), Counseling Office of Kyoto University General Student Support Center (https://www.gssc.kyoto-u.ac.jp/counsel/english.html), and nearby medical institutions.
